Do you take insurance?
Yes, currently I take UnitedHealth Care, TriWest Community Care, and Cigna. Check back for BCBS Regence, Aetna, and SelectHealth.
If you have an insurance that is not listed, I can provide you with a superbill. Superbills are itemized receipt that you can turn into your insurance provider for possible direct reimbursement. Please note: I cannot submit these superbills for you.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
In the beginning of the session, I’ll spend time going over your intake paperwork and reviewing important policies. You can think of the first session as a “meet and greet.” Some questions I like to ask during a first session include:
-Have you gone to therapy before? How did that go?
-What goals would you like to reach by going to therapy?
-What do I need to know about you to understand your current challenges?
The most important part of a first session is that you see if you feel I’m a good fit for you. If you feel supported, seen, and at ease with me, we can discuss if you’d like to meet again.
Typically, we will schedule at least four sessions to conduct a formal intake and treatment plan.
What hours are you available?
Currently, I am able to offer weeknight appointments 5:00pm MTN and later, and Fridays 8:00am to 2:00pm. Testing is typically offered Saturday mornings.
What is the treatment frequency?
Treatment almost always starts with weekly appointments lasting 50 minutes. Frequency drops to bi-weekly and monthly after symptoms improve.
Testing fees
Psychological testing generally takes 10-12 hours. This time includes interviews, test selection and preparation, test administration and interpretation, report writing time, individualized recommendations, and feedback.
Testing is provided at a flat fee of $2,000 for an adult comprehensive evaluation. I do not take insurance. A copy of your paid invoice will be provided to you.
Fees are due as follow:
$500 prior to scheduling the initial interview/consultation
$1000 prior to scheduling testing appointments
$500 prior to scheduling the feedback appointment/finalizing the report
If a prior diagnosis has been clearly confirmed through comprehensive psychological testing, and a re-evaluation is required for insurance coverage of intervention, please contact me to discuss the possibility of a reduced fee/streamlined evaluation.
I do not provide child custody or forensic evaluations. These are specialty areas of practice. Evaluation fees do not cover any court appearances. If I am subpoenaed to court as a fact witness to review the results of an evaluation, my fees are as follows: $1,000 per half day (1-4 hours), including travel time.
Can you give a presentation/seminar?
Yes, this is one of my favorite things to do! I love connecting with the community and educating. Having taught for a decade, I love any opportunity to teach. Please reference my consultation page.
Do you prescribe medications?
No. Medication can be effective for many people but is generally shown to be most effective when paired with psychotherapy.
If I believe medication may help, I will provide you a referral.
